Guidelines for Interaction

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Participants of forums, workshops, and public events agree to:

  • Extend and presume welcome;
  • Show respect for the opinions, viewpoints, and ideas of others while seeking to understand each other’s concerns;
  • Participate, not dominate;
  • Be brief and concise when speaking so that everyone may have an opportunity to speak. If you agree with a point that has been made already, please state your agreement without elaboration;
  • Seek information and understanding about the scope of the project and focus comments, discussions, suggestions and questions to that scope;
  • Speak one at a time with no cross talk.

The NMCF is committed to:

  • Respecting the opinions, viewpoints and ideas of others;
  • Providing current and timely written materials that inform participants about the forums;
  • Interacting with participants to answer questions, clarify information, consider new ideas, incorporate suggestions, and help locate additional information as requested.
