A project of the New Mexico Community Foundation, FEED is a series of facilitated ongoing monthly community meetings that invites public involvement and active dialogue about issues of environmental monitoring, contamination and remediation around Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
In addition to general information regarding monthly FEED meetings, issues to be discussed at the May 12 meeting include:
- How radioactivity from Japan’s nuclear disaster is being monitored in New Mexico – presented by LANL
- Update regarding the Plutonium-238 detection in the Buckman Well Field – presented by LANL; representatives present from the City of Santa Fe
- Community involvement in the decision-making for LANL’s stormwater permit – presented by Amigos Bravos
- Update regarding upcoming meetings, hearings and workshops
Topics of discussion for each FEED meeting will be determined by participant input. In an effort for participants to be fully prepared for the monthly topics of discussion, information will be posted on this page for review prior to each meeting.
* Community stipends are offered to compensate participants for both mileage and time in order to ensure that every person interested in attending has the means to be involved. Beverages and light refreshments will be available*
